Schumann’s “Important Event” is the sixth selection in “Scenes from Childhood”. This scene really does sound important, so we can imagine a child looking forward to something really exciting that involves pageantry, drama and in general something big.
The big chords express the importance, and the major tonality it is very optimistic.
I immediately thought of a fanfare and trumpets. Sometimes finding good pictures is really hard, but this time I had everything I needed only in about five minutes. If every video had been equally easy to make I would have finished with this project at least a month ago.
