This is from a computer game called “Hollow Knight”. The track as I heard it seems too long, like it’s been “padded”, and I guess that works great if you are in the game. But for a stand-alone piece it seems too much the same, too monotonous, so I stuck pretty close to the notes but made a large cut to get something that I think is tighter dramatically.
Then I added a transposition, a modulation, that was suggested by original. Now, I think, there is more contrast, more highs and lows.
What strikes me immediately is the bass line. Have I heard this piece before, or is it common for some music to have this kind of pattern? A lovely piece.
Just somber. Nothing else. Nothing more. Nothing less. Maybe glimpses of hope, but otherwise nothing.
I heard this song before but I’m just not familiar with the game.
I enjoy the somber tone and how it has the same feel as the video game.
I haven’t been able to go on the computer for almost a full week but I absolutely adore this transcription of the Dirtmouth theme. It still fits really well and it feels like a slightly more lively version of the in game music.
