I never heard this until a couple days ago. My first impression was that it’s just a simple “student piece”. But after thinking about it a bit I think it’s rather charming. “Berceuse” means “lullaby”.

This piece is short, sweet, and “simple”. It’s light, like a lullaby. It just fits with it’s title really well, and is overall great piece. The variations are the core, and the re-occurring bits are like a constant force urging you to… sleep.
Soft, sweet, and soothing, what a lullaby should be. Very nice.
I liked it! Reminds me a bit of Brahms’ lullaby.
