Borodin, born the same year as Brahms…
He lived for 53 years, from 12 November 1833 to 27 February 1887. Brahms lived from 7 May 1833 – 3 April 1897, so Brahms lived for about 10 more years, but they were only about six months apart. It is more likely that Borodin heard the music of Brahms than the other way around, but I don’t think either composer knew much about this other.
