No nickname:

Haydn’s symphonies of this period have more of an operatic quality because he was working on opera, and some of his ideas worked their way into his symphonies. I would  eventually like to have names of my own, to link certain features with the symphonies. If I have one idea here, it is “dance”, because there is such a feeling of moving the feet.

Movements:

  1. Allegro
  2. Allegretto
  3. Menuetto and Trio: Allegretto
  4. Finale: Allegro
