1773: The Symphony No. 26 in Eb major, K. 184/161a, age 17
This was completed on March 30, 1773, one month after Mozart returned from his third Italian tour. This is another of his very short symphonies. There are three movements, but it only lasts about nine minutes.
For future reference, I really enjoyed this performance and recording. For me this is an unexpected gem.
Instrumentation:
- two flutes
- two oboes
- two bassoons
- two horns
- two trumpets
- strings
