This is so famous, everyone knows it. There are two common versions, one for wind ensemble and one orchestra. But the trombone ensemble is absolutely fantastic

I’m wondering how this piece of music became a popular Christmas song.
I dare say after hearing the trombones I was spoiled for anything else, even though the others were excellent!
I love this thing. Anderson’s always good for a lift. Good god, most of those mikes in the trombone one are AKG 414s… nice sound, clean as the driven snow.
All the performances filled the bill for joyful holiday music. Now I know how the sound of the horse and and the whip were done. I particularly enjoyed the trombone choir. Lots of energy there.
