Things to do during isolation
We’re seeing an uptick in Covid-18 cases again and we worry about keeping occupied while isolating. One no-cost, but time well spent amusement would be to just listen. YouTube offers a wealth of listening opportunities for all kinds of music genres.
We all have extra time on our hands. Part of my time while at home is spent developing my Spotlight and Index pages, where I showcase music gems that I find worthy of your attention. I’ll be moving all things in Spotlight to the Index, making room for more things to hear.
And every day check out Today for the newest things I’ve listened to.
For my students of all levels
- make sure to review a few pieces every day. Review is probably the most important thing we do no matter what level of player you are.
- Beginning students, be sure to review lines and spaces to make sure you don’t forget how to find them in both clefs.
- Play at least one scale, and do scales from different groups if you are more advanced.
- Review chords, name them if possible.
Explore music on your own, if you can, and try something new. Check back here each day, if possible, and let me know what you are working on. Don’t forget to leave a comment!

I’m reading…
Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll do so.
I’ve read this. Good suggestions.
“… let me know that you are reading this.”
Just did. 🙂
Some good advice here.
