100 Amazing Tuba and Euphonium All-Stars From Around The World: Elgar’s Nimrod

I’m not going to write anything about this, but euphonium is the instrument I played, and what these players are doing has a huge significance to me, plus I love the music that they are playing – Elgar’s Nimrod from his Enigma Variations. But I will mention that Bb euphonium is actually the same basic instrument as the so-called Wagner horn, just with a bigger bore and larger mouthpiece.

I do want to start posting featured music of all the instruments in a orchestras and wind ensemble, and I especially hope my students who also play other instruments will pay attention.

  1. I felt such peace listening to this, and the occasion added to this brought tears to my eyes.

And I think in another life I’d like to learn to play the euphonium – or tuba. Just sayin’.
